The launch of The Shadow Bird on July 15th kicked off a two-week blog tour, with a round-robin of book bloggers chiming in with their reviews. As a debut author, I was thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive reviews the book received. I’ve compiled a few quotes from the reviewers below:

Ann Gosslin’s The Shadow Bird is a fascinating yet alarming psychological thriller that ensnared me with its excellent depictions of the menace of guilt and the beauty of innocence. I have to admit that I feared that TSB was going to be a shade generic. I have read my share of novels where psychologists with chequered pasts finding peace with their own history through aiding someone else in trouble. Ann Gosslin managed to defeat my concerns with ease, taking these familiar tropes and flipping them on their head, and in doing so gave me another stellar psychological thriller to ramble on about. @alwaystrustinbooks

I can’t emphasise how much this book got under my skin. Present all the way through the narrative is an uneasy, subtle tension that I personally found thought-provoking and thrilling. I also can’t emphasise enough how much The Shadow Bird evoked my empathy. I found it raw and emotional and I shed tears on numerous occasions as I read. I had a hunch about some elements of the plot, with my hunches proving true. However there is an almighty twist that I didn’t see coming and totally took my breath away. @noveldelights
